Featured on today’s program:

-An interview with Amber Berson, organizer of this weekend’s Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon, taking place on Saturday at the Eastern Bloc gallery. Up for discussion today - Wikipedia’s gender trouble is well documented: in a 2010 survey, Wikimedia found that less than 13% of its contributors are female.

-Street Beat Radio: a monthly segment produced by CKUT and street youth at Chez Pops/Dans la Rue. The last time we aired Streetbeat in November, we invited a band from Chez Pops to perform live in studio. The performance blew us all away at the time, and we had high hopes for the Victoria-based group named Canvas. Sadly, on January 10th, a fatal fire killed the band’s bassist and lead singer Henry Luke Rachwalski. The band has returned home to Victoria, but we wanted to pay tribute to the group and thank them for sharing their music.

-Plus we’ll hear stories from Chez Doris. Chez Doris is a women’s shelter in downtown Montreal that provides drop-in services during the day. CKUT drops in bi-monthly to chat aboutvarious topics, and this past monday we touched on the metro and Marois.
