Off the Hour / March 22, 5-6pm / Non-Status Women Haunt Trudeau
Tune in to Off the Hour, your daily community news show, every Monday-Friday from 5-6pm on CKUT!
Today on the show:
-The Collective of Non Status Women of Montreal began haunting the riding office of Justin Trudeau last Friday. The women have been waiting for a response from the Prime Minister since delivering a letter to his office last November describing their extreme precarity as women and workers living without permanent or legal status. The Collective renewed their call to the Prime Minister in a press conference in January 2016, «We Want Status Now», and again in a video message, «We Want to live in Dignity, Security and Peace», launched on March 8th. CKUT’s Claudia Edwards was there with them outside Trudeau’s office to bring us a report.
-Then, terrorist attacks hit Brussels, Belgium this morning, killing at least 30 people. We’ll go to Democracy Now and Free Speech Radio News for coverage.
-But first up, we bring you the latest edition of Unfit to Print, CKUT’s bi-weekly collaboration with the McGill Daily newspaper. In this episode of Unfit to Print, Emily Boytinck, the current SSMU VP External, talks about the recently failed SSMU constitutional amendment to block external and divisive GA motions. Plus, excerpts from the panel entitled Black Perspectives on the Question of Palestine from Israeli Apartheid Week.
