    On today’s No One Is Illegal Radio (Thursday, August 1, 5-6pm) we feature a live interview with DAVID AUSTIN, author of the recently released “Fear of a Black Nation: Race, Sex, and Security in Sixties Montreal.” Also on the show, DJ ANDY WILLIAMS, who will speak about the role of music in the Black Power movements, the role of art in Black African politics, and Indigenous struggle.

    As you have probably heard, Trayvon Martin, a black, unarmed 17-year old from Florida, was shot on February 26th, 2012, by George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer. Zimmerman, who states that he shot Martin in self-defense, was acquitted of murder on July 13th, 2013. Various media outlets have focused on the fact that the jury consisted of six women.
