A demonstration was held in the neighborhood of St-Henri on Saturday to demand the construction of 50 thousand more units of social housing in response to increasing condo construction and gentrification across the island of Montreal.
Excerpts from a talk by Leila Bedeir on Islamic feminism and the Quebec Values Charter. Bedeir is an activist and active member of the Federation des Femmes du Quebec. She is a founding member of the Collective des féministes musulmanes du Québec and teaches Humanities and Women’s Studies at Vanier College.
A report on Deepan Budlakoti, an Ottawa-born man and Canadian citizen who is currently facing deportation to India, a country where he has never lived. Budlakoti was in Montreal recently as part of a national speaking tour.
