Truth and Reconciliation Grand Finale Broadcast - Monday October 21

The project, called “Resonating Reconciliation”, funded dozens of community radio stations across the country to each produce a 30-minute radio documentary on the legacy of Indian Residential Schools in their community, with additional funding to provide training to local Aboriginal volunteers. There are two rounds of documentaries. The first round aired during a day-long Decolonization Broadcast on July 1st on CKUT’s airwaves.

Monday, October 21st between 2 and 6pm, we celebrate the launching of the second round of documentaries, bringing stories from Residential School experiences and looking at the inter-generational effects. CKUT’s Irkar Beljaars & CO OP Radio and NCRA Resonating Reconciliation Coordinator, Gunargie O’Sullivan, will host this broadcast. Tune-in for interviews with producers, Gunargie speaking about the project and two of the many documentaries to be played over the next few months.

This project was made by possible by the NCRA, The Truth and Reconciliation Commission and Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada, Aboriginal producers and countless radio stations.
